Aboriginal Health Services

We work with Aboriginal communities to provide services and information that help you improve and maintain your health. Our services are available to you whether you live on or off reserve.

View a Map of Aboriginal Communities (PDF).

We provide the services below, often in collaboration with community services and organizations.

Aboriginal Health Clinics

We contracted with the Victoria Cool Aid Society and created a partnership with the Victoria Native Friendship Centre (VNFC) to support and provide space for an Aboriginal Doctor and a Nurse Practitioner.  This is a free confidential service for Aboriginal people who do not have a doctor.  Please see our Aboriginal Health Clinics page for more information and clinic days and times.  (VNFC is located at 231 Regina Street in Victoria)

Aboriginal Health Initiative Program

The Aboriginal Health Initiative Program (AHIP) provides funding to support community-based projects.

Aboriginal Health Team

Our Aboriginal Health Team provides care throughout Vancouver Island:

All Nations' Healing Room (ANHR)

The All Nations' Healing Room at Royal Jubilee Hospital is a peaceful private space for Aboriginal, Metis or Inuit patients and their family members. It can be used to perform traditional healing practices or perform cultural ceremonies while a loved one is in hospital.  (You may need permission from a patient's physician or care providers.)
