The Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) is committed to being accountable to the public we serve. This means we are committed to informing the public about how we plan to deliver services to meet the needs of our communities, as well as reporting on the services and resources provided to meet those needs. It also means that we measure and report on our performance in delivering quality health care services.
The VIHA Five-Year Strategic Plan sets the overall direction for future service delivery to 2013.
The Health Service Plan is submitted to the Ministry of Health Services each year. It includes an overview of VIHA's key accomplishments, challenges and plans for three years, with a focus on the current fiscal year.
VIHA measures, monitors and reports its performance in relation to goals and key targets using Performance Measures. These measures are periodically updated to reflect current performance.
Financial reporting provides information on the financial resources used to meet targets and sustain health service delivery.
Facts & Figures provides statistical information and an overview of specific activities and services provided.
Policies and procedures are in place to support VIHA's commitment to integrity, accountability and ethics.
Working with the Executive Team, the Board of Directors ensures patients receive the best care possible within an affordable, sustainable health care system. The public is welcome to attend general meetings, which are held in communities across VIHA.
