Matthew Watson joined the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) Board of Directors in February 2012.
Matthew brings more than 20 years of experience in technology industry leadership to the VIHA Board. Most recently he was an owner of Armorlogic, a leader in IT security software for large enterprises, before the company was sold to Alert Logic of Houston, Texas in January, 2012. Currently, Matthew continues to work with Alert Logic, as well as several other businesses.
In previous roles Matthew was the Chief Operating Officer of Carmanah Technologies during its rapid rise from a marine lighting company to a global leader in Solar LED lighting. He also held a similar role with ACD Systems during its evolution from start-up to a significant global player in digital imaging software.
Prior to entering business, Matthew practiced law with a large national firm. He holds a BA and LLB/JD from the University of British Columbia. As well as the VIHA Board, Matthew has served on several public and private boards. His community participation includes eight years as a board member of the Victoria International Airport, an advisory board member of UVIC’s Gustafson School of Business and a member of the Power to Be Adventure Therapy Charity. Matthew lives with his family in Saanich.
