Working with the Board of Directors, and led by President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Brendan Carr, the executive team is responsible for meeting the health needs of the population of the region in an effective and sustainable manner.
In collaboration with the BC Ministry of Health, the executive team establishes performance objectives regarding the delivery of health care, and works to ensure those goals are met or exceeded.
Dr. Jatinder Baidwan
Executive Vice President & Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Baidwan was appointed the role of Executive Vice President & Chief Medical Officer November 8, 2013.
In 2011, Dr. Baidwan was appointed as Island Health’s Executive Medical Director, Medical Affairs and since March 2013 has served as Acting Executive Vice-President and Chief Medical Officer.
Director, Office of the President & CEO
Ann Bozoian joined Island Health in May 2005, fulfilling the responsibilities of Director to the Office of the President and CEO.
Ann has worked in the public sector for over 20 years, and prior to joining Island Health she held the position of Executive Director, Corporate Planning and Performance with the Ministry of Management Services.

Dr. Brendan Carr was appointed to the role of President and Chief Executive Officer on August 6, 2013. He has worked with Island Health since March 2012 as the Executive Vice President & Chief Medical Officer.

Vice President & Chief Information Officer
Catherine Claiter-Larsen joined Island Health in August 2005.
As Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Catherine is responsible for the strategic and operational management of Island Health's Information Management and Information Technology portfolio.
Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Kim Kerrone assumed the position of Vice President & Chief Financial Officer in June 2013.
Kim has over 20 years experience in health care as well as experience in strategic consulting with Deloitte and with the corporate oil and gas sector in Calgary. Prior to joining Island Health, Kim was the Director of Finance with the Calgary Health Region where she was responsible for all budget planning, business analysis and financial arrangements with contracted health providers.
Vice President, Planning & Improvement
Georgina MacDonald was promoted to the position of Vice-President, Planning & Improvement for Island Health in September 2005.
Georgina has over 18 years practical experience in the health care sector and joined the health authority in 2003 as Regional Director of Planning & Community Engagement.
Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
In the role of Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer is Catherine Mackay. She works in partnership with Dr. Jatinder Baidwan, Acting Executive Vice President & Chief Medical Officer, to co-lead operations within the five clinical portfolios. Together they provide leadership in all aspects of planning, operation and evaluation of health service programs as well as provide support and direction to the Island Medical Program.
Vice President, Operations & Support Services
In December 2001, Joe Murphy was appointed the position of Vice President, Clinical and Operations Support for Island Health.
Prior to this appointment, Joe managed many roles within the Capital Health Region. In 2000 and 2001 he acted as Vice President of Finance and Operations Support.
Vice President and Chief, Communications and Public Relations
In 2012, Toni O'Keeffe was appointed the position of Vice President and Chief Communications and Public Relations, in an acting capacity.
Toni has been a professional communications and public relations practitioner for over twenty-five years, a field of work that she loves.
In her role as Vice President Communications and Public Relations, she is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to a diverse range of communication functions including: communications planning, issues management, media relations, health literacy awareness, government relations, community relations, and web and social media engagement.
Chief Medical Health Officer
Dr. Stanwick was appointed the position of Chief Medical Health Officer for Island Health in December 2001.
Dr. Stanwick was the Medical Health Officer for the Capital Regional District (CRD) from 1995 to 1997, a position that expanded to include Director of Research when the function amalgamated to the Capital Health Region (CHR) in 1997.
Dr. Lynn Stevenson
Executive Vice President, People, Organizational Development, Practice & Chief Nurse
Dr. Lynn Stevenson returned to Vancouver Island to join Island Health in September 2005. As the Executive Vice President, People, Organizational Development, Practice & Chief Nurse, Dr. Stevenson is responsible for providing leadership to ensure a coordinated and inter-professional effort in the promotion of safe, competent, ethical practices which contribute to the achievement of quality client, resident and patient outcomes throughout Island Health.
