Vice President, Communications and Stakeholder Engagement
Jamie Braman joined Island Health as Vice President, Communications & Stakeholder Engagement in June 2017. In this role, Jamie serves as a key strategist working closely with the Board, the President and CEO, the Executive Team, senior leadership and key stakeholders. He proactively identifies engagement and communications opportunities and risks, and provides strategic direction on all matters that impact corporate reputation and standing within the health sector and in the public sphere. The role also supports and coordinates strategic engagement with communities and community organizations to promote health and wellness.
Jamie joins Island Health from Interior Health where he most recently served as Vice President, Communications & Public Engagement. In this role, he provided organizational leadership for internal/external communications and stakeholder engagement activities. Prior to his appointment as Vice President, Jamie served for four years as Director of Strategic Initiatives in the Office of the President & CEO at Interior Health. In that role, he led CEO and Board Chair stakeholder engagement activities, and undertook a number of actions to increase the effectiveness of Senior Executive Team and Board of Directors activities. Previous to joining Interior Health, Jamie lived on Vancouver Island for fifteen years. During that time he worked in the Legislative Assembly, including ten years as chief of staff to cabinet ministers — including successive Ministers of Health.
Jamie holds a Masters of Arts in Leadership (Health Specialization) from Royal Roads University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Victoria.
