Director, Office of the President & CEO
Ann Bozoian joined the Vancouver Island Health Authority in May 2005, fulfilling the responsibilities of Director to the Office of the President and CEO.
Ann has worked in the public sector for over 20 years, and prior to joining VIHA she held the position of Executive Director, Corporate Planning and Performance with the Ministry of Management Services.

Dr. Richard Crow
Executive Vice President & Chief Medical Officer
In the role of Executive Vice President & Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Crow works in partnership with Catherine MacKay, Executive Vice President & Chief Operations Officer, to co-lead operations within the five clinical portfolios. Together they provide leadership in all aspects of planning, operation and evaluation of health service programs as well as provide support and direction to the Island Medical Program.

Vice President, Planning & Improvement
Georgina MacDonald was promoted to the position of Vice-President, Planning & Improvement for the Vancouver Island Health Authority in September 2005.
Georgina has over 18 years practical experience in the health care sector and joined the health authority in 2003 as Regional Director of Planning & Community Engagement.

Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
In the role of Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer is Catherine Mackay. She works in partnership with Dr. Richard Crow, Executive Vice President & Chief Medical Officer, to co-lead operations within the five clinical portfolios. Joe Murphy
Vice President, Operations & Support Services
In December 2001, Joe Murphy was appointed the position of Vice President, Clinical and Operations Support for the Vancouver Island Health Authority.
Prior to this appointment, Joe managed many roles within the Capital Health Region. In 2000 and 2001 he acted as Vice President of Finance and Operations Support.

Richard Stanwick
Chief Medical Health Officer
Dr. Stanwick was appointed the position of Chief Medical Health Officer for the Vancouver Island Health Authority in December 2001.
Dr. Stanwick was the Medical Health Officer for the Capital Regional District (CRD) from 1995 to 1997, a position that expanded to include Director of Research when the function amalgamated to the Capital Health Region (CHR) in 1997.

Executive Vice President, People, Organizational Development, Practice & Chief Nurse
Dr. Lynn Stevenson returned to Vancouver Island to join VIHA in September 2005. As the Executive Vice President, People, Organizational Development, Practice & Chief Nurse, Dr. Stevenson is responsible for providing leadership to ensure a coordinated and inter-professional effort in the promotion of safe, competent, ethical practices which contribute to the achievement of quality client, resident and patient outcomes throughout VIHA.

Neil Sweeney
Vice President & Chief, Communications & External Relations
Neil Sweeney joined the Vancouver Island Health Authority in January 2009 as Chief, Communications and External Relations.
In this role, Neil is responsible for overseeing VIHA’s communication strategy, which includes stakeholder and internal communications, issues management, and media relations.

Rudi van den Broek
Chief Project Officer & General Manager Special Projects
Rudi van den Broek joined the Vancouver Island Health Authority in June 2007 to fulfill the responsibilities of Chief Project Officer & General Manager Special Projects.
Prior to this appointment Rudi was the Health Practice Leader and Assistant Vice President of Partnerships BC – a post he held for over four years. During his time at PBC, Rudi also made significant contributions to the development of innovative procurement and contractual structures in the post secondary, health and real estate sectors.

President & Chief Operating Officer
Howard joined the Vancouver Island Health Authority in October 2004, as President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to this, he was the former Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Calgary Health Region - one of Canada's leading integrated, academic health regions. He held this post for five years.
