Vice President & Chief, Communications and External Relations
Neil Sweeney joined the Vancouver Island Health Authority in January 2009 as Chief, Communications and External Relations.
In this role, Neil is responsible for overseeing VIHA’s communication strategy, which includes stakeholder and internal communications, issues management, and media relations.
Neil has significant experience in the areas of stakeholder relationships and external relations, in both the private and public sectors. Most recently, he was Director of Communications and Government Relations for Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipelines. Neil also served as Vice-President, Corporate Affairs, North America for Labatt Breweries of Canada. His public sector experience includes roles in both the provincial and federal governments.
