VICTORIA – In response to some concerns regarding the survey methodology in the online questionnaire that Island Health is using to solicit feedback from the public on supervised consumption, Island Health has now updated, adapted and reposted the survey.
The online survey is only one method that Island Health is using to obtain public feedback on proposed locations for supervised consumption services.
While Island Health would encourage the 400 respondents who have taken the survey to date to consider re-taking it, Island Health has already gleaned valuable community input from the contents of the original survey.
The updated survey can be accessed at www.viha.ca/scs.
In addition to the online survey, members of the public can also provide feedback on supervised consumption in the following ways:
Regular mail: Office of the Chief Medical Health Officer
Island Health Fort Royal Medical Centre
430-1900 Richmond Avenue, Victoria, BC V8R 4R2
Two drop-in public neighbourhood meetings:
Tuesday, November 22
4 pm to 7 pm
Centennial United Church
612 David Street
Wednesday, November 23
4 pm to 8 pm
City of Victoria City Hall Antechamber
1 Centennial Square
The public feedback process will continue through December 2, 2016 with Island Health aiming to submit applications for supervised consumption services by year’s end.
