VICTORIA - Despite the heavy snowfall overnight, the Vancouver Island Health Authority reports that staff have made great efforts to get to work at all care sites on Vancouver Island and most surgeries and diagnostic tests are proceeding.
The only exception is Saanich Peninsula Hospital where elective surgeries have been cancelled today because the facility is operating on emergency power due to a BC Hydro failure and some staff have been unable to get to work. Read the News Release and Public Service Announcement (PDF)
