VICTORIA - An expansion of detox services in Greater Victoria will provide more options and improve access to services for individuals in the early stages of recovery from alcohol or drug addiction, the Vancouver Island Health Authority announced today. This $240,000 expansion of outpatient detox services is part of $7.6 million in commitments made by VIHA last Fall for mental health and addictions services under the ‘housing first’ approach of the Mayor’s Task Force on Homelessness.
