PORT ALBERNI - The Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) is broadening efforts to contain an outbreak of tuberculosis (TB) in Port Alberni, by expanding access to physicians for the affected population. VIHA has approved additional funding for street level downtown clinics in Port Alberni, to provide general medical care and follow up, and also specialty care in tuberculosis for those at high risk of contracting TB.
