VICTORIA - The Vancouver Island Health Authority has been presented with a prestigious award for an educational DVD for healthcare providers entitled Delirium in the Older Person: a Medical Emergency. Delirium is a change in an individual’s mental state that comes on suddenly, fluctuates over 24 hours, alters consciousness, disturbs thinking and attention and results in changed behaviour.
