DUNCAN –  Due to higher than expected volumes for H1N1 clinics in the Cowichan area and a need for a larger venue, the following changes are in effect:

Friday Oct. 30 the clinic scheduled for the Margaret Moss Health Unit in Duncan, will be moving to:

Cowichan Community Centre also known as Island Saving Centre
2687 James Street from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday Nov. 4 the clinic scheduled at the Margaret Moss Health Unit will be cancelled and rescheduled to:

Cowichan Community Centre also known as Island Saving Centre

Lake Cowichan:

Clinics scheduled for the Lake Cowichan Health Unit will be moved to:

Lower Centennial Hall

309 South Shore Rd in Lake Cowichan for Monday Nov. 2 from 1-6 pm, and Wed. Nov.4 from 9-11:30.

We are currently vaccinating high risk groups only. High risk groups are listed online at www.viha.ca/h1n1/public/vaccine.htm

Once the high risk groups have received the H1N1 vaccine, the shot will be available to the general population. There is enough H1N1 vaccine for everyone who wants it, and mass immunization clinics will be open to everyone by mid November.

The seasonal influenza shot will also be available to at all VIHA mass immunization clinics to all those at high risk of serious illness from seasonal influenza, and spread the seasonal influenza virus to those at high risk of serious illness.
