NANAIMO—Helpful tips on healthy living are just a lunch break away.
Dr. Derek Poteryko, Island Health’s Medical Director of Community Health for Nanaimo, invites residents to explore wellness-related topics in a five-part lunch-and-learn series starting Sept. 28.
“These lunch-and-learn classes are about supporting people to make lifestyle choices that can help them improve their health and live happier lives,” said Dr. Poteryko.
The lunch-and-learn classes are part of a wellness partnership between Island Health and the City of Nanaimo. Classes cost $2 each and run from noon to 12:45 pm on Sept. 28 and Oct. 5, 2016 and Jan. 18, Feb. 15 and March 15, 2017.
All classes will be held at the Beban Park Social Centre at 2300 Bowen Road. Pre-registration is available through the City’s Fall and Winter Activity Guide. Participants can attend all sessions or just one or two.
