VICTORIA – This afternoon, a young male set himself on fire on the grounds of the Royal Jubilee Hospital.
The young man as immediately attended by VIHA Protection Services staff and Memorial Pavilion staff, who extinguished the fire. Staff called 911 and police, ambulance, and the fire department were on site within minutes.
The man is being treated at Royal Jubilee Hospital where he is in critical condition. No further information is being released at this time.
