Parking improvement project at Royal Jubilee Hospital

July 6, 2016

Parking at the Main Entrance of Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria will be temporarily reduced due to construction starting July 11, 2016.

The purpose of the construction is to actually improve parking in the area.

Throughout the project, 26 parking stalls in front of the Emergency Department and Diagnostic & Treatment Centre will be impacted on a rotational basis. Parking will be reduced at various times in order to perform the work in a safe manner. At any given time, 14 parking spots could be out of service, representing just two percent of all public parking at the Royal Jubilee Hospital campus.

People with disabilities will be given priority for parking during this time and there will also be Parking Ambassadors and flag persons on site to assist patients and visitors.

The construction is expected to last until August 12, weather dependent.

Once completed, there will be increased parking for all patients, clients and visitors arriving at the Main Entrance, as well as improved access for those with disabilities, improved pedestrian and vehicle flow, and reduced vehicular congestion.

Island Health apologizes in advance for any inconvenience.
