A final Hepatitis A drop-in immunization clinic will be available for Fairway Market Quadra location employees and eligible members of the general public who have consumed non-prepackaged food from that store’s delicatessen.
When: Saturday, April 7, 2012
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
Where: Victoria Health Unit, 1947 Cook Street
Eligible members of the general public are those who consumed non pre-packaged delicatessen food, purchased on March 25 or 26, from the Fairway Markets Quadra location. Hepatitis A vaccine can prevent Hepatitis A virus infection, but only when given within 14 days of exposure. On Saturday April 7, the vaccine will only be effective for those who consumed food from the deli that was purchased on March 25 or 26.
Persons who have had Hepatitis A in the past, or who have previously received two doses of the vaccine are protected from the disease and do not need to be vaccinated.
This DOES NOT apply to produce or other foods purchased from other areas of the grocery store or deli items and food products from any of the other seven Fairway Markets grocery outlets located in Victoria or on Vancouver Island.
