Quadra Island H1N1 Clinic Cancelled

Quadra Island – The H1N1 influenza vaccination clinic scheduled for Quadra Island on Wednesday, November 4 at the Community Centre at 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. has been CANCELLED.

The clinic has been cancelled due to the delays in the provinces receiving the anticipated quantities of H1N1 vaccine. The initial clinic held on Quadra Island on Friday, October 30, 2009 was well attended. Eligible individuals who were unable to attend the initial Quadra Island clinic can receive the H1N1 shot at immunization clinics taking place in Campbell River or can contact their doctor.

The next Campbell River H1N1 clinic takes place on November 4 at St. Patricks Church, 34 S. Alder Street from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. A full listing of clinic dates and times is posted on the Vancouver Island Health Authority website at www.viha.ca
 
 We are currently vaccinating high-risk groups only.  High-risk groups are listed online at www.viha.ca/h1n1/public/vaccine.htm 

Please note that people 65 years and older are not considered high risk and are not eligible this week.

The seasonal influenza shot will also be available at VIHA mass immunization clinics to those who are eligible for seasonal influenza vaccine and to those receiving H1N1 vaccine only.
