VICTORIA – The Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) is holding a free public lecture featuring speakers from the Center for Health Care Design who are visiting Victoria and the Royal Jubilee Hospital’s new Patient Care Centre.
VIHA is involved with the Center for Health Care Design through the ‘Pebble Project’ – a research project that allows health care leaders to share experiences relating to health care building design with the goal to create well-designed health care facilities that contribute to better patient care.
The free lecture will address questions such as:
- How have recent hospital designs influenced the lay-out and physical set-up of the Patient Care Centre?
- How will this brand new hospital facility in Victoria contribute to better and safer care for patients and a better work environment for staff and physicians?
- How have learnings from other hospital construction projects in Europe and North America been incorporated in the Royal Jubilee PCC?
Lecture speakers are:
- Roger Ulrich, Ph. D. Professor, Architecture, Texas A&M University and
- Faculty Fellow, Center for Health Systems & Design
