Employee Referral Program

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

VIHA recognizes that one of the best ways to find new employees is through our own staff and people who are familiar with the organization and our staffing needs. This is why VIHA has re-launched the Employee Referral Program.

HOW IT WORKS

The VIHA Employee Referral Program (ERP) provides financial rewards to VIHA employees, volunteers and physicians who assist us in recruiting new staff.

When an applicant fills out their application profile on VI-HIRE they will need to indicate on the ‘referral source’ that it was an ‘employee referral’.  If the applicant is then hired to VIHA they will need to indicate to the Hiring Manager who at VIHA referred them to the job opportunity. The Hiring Manager will then inform Human Resources so the referee will receive compensation.

If a referred applicant is subsequently hired into an eligible position or accrues 500 hours in the case of a casual appointment, the financial reward is paid out subject to the program criteria.

HIRING CRITERIA & REWARDS

The following rewards apply to these eligible positions:

  • Regular full time/part time vacancies:
    $300 REWARD
  • Temporary full time/part time vacancies:
    $100 REWARD
  • Casual Status - paid after the hire has worked 500 hours:
    $50 REWARD
