Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager Technical Services and receiving day-to-day direction from the Senior Technical Analyst for MS Servers and Active Directory as well as the Microsoft Technical Services Team Lead, the AD Administrator works as a senior resource primarily supporting VIHA’s Active Directory and server infrastructure.
The AD Administrator provides the senior skills required for the day-to-day operational and technical delivery and support of VIHA’s Active Directory environment. Their role is to provide analysis, development, implementation, and maintenance of the various components relating to VIHA’s Active Directory infrastructure, including the management of user and computer objects, OUs, Group Policy, DNS, WINS, Domain Controllers, and domain replication, as well as any related layered products, utilities and hardware. This effort includes ongoing response to Service Desk incidents and problems as well as strict adherence to VIHA’s ITIL-based Change Management policies and processes. They will also provide work direction to others, including Technical Support II staff, within the MS Server and AD team.
This role will be expected to have the skills necessary to fully support and manage the operations of VIHA’s MS Active Directory infrastructure and will also be a key resource on behalf of new initiatives such as upgrades and migrations, federation, as well as other challenging new projects and technologies. Further to that, this role will be expected to assist with supporting products and services such as AD-Integrated Certificate Services, Microsoft Identity Integration Server, and MS Server clustering (File and Print) technologies.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience

Graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science, with three (3) years recent related experience (such as administering and supporting a large, multi-site Windows 2003/2008 Active Directory infrastructure and supporting related technologies) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Demonstrated Skills and Abilities

- Ability to write programs in a variety of programming languages.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
