Job Summary

The Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) has an opportunity for a part-time or full time locum Pediatrician at the Campbell River & District General Hospital in the beautiful oceanfront city of Campbell River.

Campbell River & District General Hospital – 59 beds (5 closed ICU beds) provides services to a referral population of 55,000.  Enjoy a collegial and academic work group with opportunities for teaching and research with skilled specialist colleagues and on site CT.  The construction of a new hospital, which will include all of the currently provided health care services and an additional 20 beds, is underway and expected to open in 2017.

Campbell River has an average of 400 births per year and a Level I nursery (36 weeks or more).  The successful candidate will share call (1:3).

Specialist colleagues include:  ENT, plastic, general and orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, pathologist, obstetrics and radiologists (on site CT).

Qualifications


Education, Training and Experience

FRCPC Pediatrics
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Mandatory
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - Mandatory
Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
