May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidy agreement including:  Retention Premium 4.2%, Retention Flat Fee $3672, Recruitment Incentive $10,000, Relocation Costs up to $15,000. Rural CME: Years 3 & 4:  $3000/annum and after 4 years:  $6000/annum.

Job Summary

Island Health has an opportunity for a full time Anesthesiologist to join a team of four colleagues in a busy anesthesia practice at the Cowichan District Hospital.
The Cowichan District Hospital, a 110-bed acute care facility, enjoys an exceptionally collegial atmosphere amongst the general and specialty medical staff. 

Clinical specialist colleagues include General and Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, ENT, Ophthalmology and Radiology.  On-site CT and a PACS medical imaging system are available.

Affiliation with the University of British Columbia’s Island Medical Program provides teaching opportunities to medical students and residents.

FRCPC
Licensure with College of Physicians & Surgeons of B.C.
