Job Summary

The Medical Imaging department at Island Health is seeking two General Radiologist physicians. One position requires basic interventional skills and is to provide significant service in Port Alberni and Parksville, in addition to Nanaimo. For the second position, additional training in either Interventional Radiology or Neuroradiology, or Nuclear Medicine fellowship would be an asset.
The successful candidate will join a collegial group of ten (10) Radiologists in mixed hospital/private practice, providing services to the catchment area of approximately 150000 patients.

Services provided by our Medical Imaging Department include:  MR, CT, ultrasound, echocardiography, nuclear medicine, diagnostic/screening mammography, interventional radiology, bone densitometry and general radiology at Nanaimo Regional and West Coast General Hospitals ( Port Alberni), and Oceanside Health Centre (Parksville).

Training in CT, MR, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and basic biopsies and drainages is required.

A trial locum of at least 1 week is encouraged.

The successful candidates must have certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Diagnostic Radiology and be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
