Immunization

Immunization is one of the most important ways we keep our children and our communities safe from debilitating and fatal childhood diseases. It is very important that you have your child immunized.
  • Immunizations are very safe. The shots contain tiny amounts of dead or weakened virus or bacteria that encourage your baby’s body to build the antibodies it needs to fight that disease for the rest of her life.
  • The benefits of immunization far outweigh any risks posed to your baby.
  • It is still essential you keep your baby's shots up to date to protect him, and others, against a possible outbreak.

Call your public health unit to set up immunization appointments.
