Building Description

The Cridge Village Seniors’ Centre was once the BC Protestant Orphans’ Home built in 1892. Today in its beautifully refurbished and expanded elegance, it is a 166,000 sq.ft. 77-unit Assisted-Living seniors’ residence.

Activity room, exercise room, 2 libraries, computer lounge, The Grand Lounge, floor lounges that allow for a variety of social interactions and a lovely guest suite.

Operated by The Cridge Centre for the Family, and located on 14 acres of park-like property with access off Hillside Avenue, the setting houses seniors adjacent to family programs and creates a multi-generational community. Close to bus routes and Hillside Shopping Centre.

Residents pay 70% of their after-tax income which covers: 1) monthly rental accommodation; 2) hospitality services: two meals daily, weekly housekeeping, linen, etc.; 3) personal care; and 4) on-site emergency response system.  Residents on income assistance pay a flat rate. Items not included as a part of the monthly fee include: telephone, cable, hydro, personal laundry, household and toiletry supplies, medications, personal care products and insurance.

  • Our bus is equipped with a lift and is regularly used for resident outings

Excellent meals provided by a CCC designated Chef. In addition, we are located on 14 acres of beautiful property in the heart of the city, with walking paths available to all mobility requirements, and an easy distance to all amenities (mall, banking, pharmacy etc).

Visiting Information

Please use intercom system at main entries to buzz the suite of the resident whom you are visiting, both to alert them that you are here and so they can buzz you into the building; while dog visitors are welcome, they must be kept on a short leash at all times and will be asked to leave if they cause a disruption. As well, animal visitors are not permitted to be in or walk through any food service areas; Child visitors (including teens) are expected to be under the supervision of an adult at all times; We expect that the right to safety, privacy and quiet of all residents will be respected by each visitor and disruptions may result in their being asked to leave; If a visitor would like to join a resident for a meal, they need to speak with reception the day before the meal in order to reserve a space and purchase a quest meal ticket.
