Licensed Dementia Housing

Dementia Housing is specialized housing for clients with various forms of dementia. It is based on a social model of care where residents are engaged in activities of daily living and cared for by specially trained staff. While each person has their own suite, activity and dining areas are communal and it is a small, intimate “family” environment.

Planned activities within the residences are designed to engage clients and to promote socialization. The activity calendar events are chosen to build on existing client skills and to take into account resident interests. The overall focus is on relationship building, maintaining abilities and creating a warm, supportive environment.

Included in the service are:

    • Accommodation
    • 24-hour care
    • Other services such as physical therapy, social work and nutritional support
    • Hospitality services (meals, housekeeping, recreational activity programs, emergency response)
    • Personal care assistance
    • Secure environment with outdoor access
