Building Description

Built in 2005, this two story building with ground level entry has all the rooms on the main floor and the amenities (kitchen, maintenance, laundry, etc.) on the lower level. All rooms are private rooms. The site is surrounded with trees, grass, a small orchard and numerous plants. The building has wide hallways and handrails to assist the elders.

Building Amenities

The building features many amenities and services including an activities room, private dining room, indoor lounges and outdoor courtyards.  Additional amenities include a hair salon, media room, board room, library, elder kitchen and a sensory therapy room.

Neighbourhood /Community Amenities

Located next door to a seniors home and numerous apartments, many with seniors. Downtown area is a short distance away with full services such as restaurants, banking, recreation, pharmacies, etc.

Accreditation Primer Award recipient.

Philosophy of Care

Arrowsmith operates with the Eden Philosophy of Care. Eden address helplessness, hopelessness, loneliness and boredom which are suffered by almost all elders who are in institutions.

Type of Accommodation

Private 74 complex care beds and one respite.

Cost

Residents pay up to 80% of their after tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation.

Special Recreational Opportunities

A fully staffed activities department which provides a wide range of activities for all the elders.

Accessibility

There is a bus stop located on the front street. Handi-dart will pick up right outside the door.

Motorized Scooter Policy

Motorized scooters are not allowed.

Pet Policy

Pets are not allowed. However, we do have dog visiting.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is not allowed by the staff. Smoking for the elders is in designated areas only.

Safety/Security Features

Security checks are conducted nightly. The facility has locked doors with FOB (computer chip) access only. 

Visiting Information

During influenza season (typically December-March), to help protect patients from the flu, all visitors will be expected to wear a mask in our facilities if they have not had a flu shot. For more information, please read our Frequently Asked Questions (PDF) and Influenza Protection Policy (PDF).
