Building Description

Built in 2005, a two story building with all the rooms on the main floor and the amenities (kitchen, maintenance, laundry, etc.) on the lower level. All rooms are private room with showers. The site is surrounded with trees, grass, a small orchard and numerous plants. The building has wide hallways and handrails to assist the elders.

Building Amenities

The building features many amenities and services including lounges, hair salon, media room, board room, library, activities room, private dinning room, elder kitchen and outdoor courtyards. Internet access is available.

Neighbourhood /Community Amenities

Located next door to a seniors home and numerous apartment, many with seniors. Downtown area is  a short distance away with full servicers such as restaurants, banking, recreation, pharmacies, etc.

Philosophy of Care

Arrowsmith operated with the Eden Philosohy of Care. Eden address helplessness, hopelessness and boredom which are suffered by almost all elders who are in institutions.

Cost

Residents pay up to 80% of their after tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation.

Special Recreational Opportunities

A fully staffed activities department which provides a wide range of activities for all the elders.

Accessibility

There is a bus stop located on the front street. Handi-dart will pick up right outside the door.

Motorized Scooter Policy

Motorized scooters are not allowed.

Pet Policy

Pets are not allowed. However, we do have dog visiting.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is not allowed by the staff. Smoking for the elders is in designated areas only.

Safety/Security Features

Security checks are conducted nightly. The facility has locked doors with FOB (computer chip) access only. 

Facility-specific Restrictions

Psycho-geriatric elders are not accepted.
