The Views was built in 1982 (75 beds); addition in 1993 (50 beds). The building is adjacent to St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Comox. It sits on the oceanfront with a spectacular view of the Beaufort Strait and the Beaufort Mountain Range across the water. The property is home to many eagles; hence our units are called Eagleview and Oceanview.
Features of the building include: wheelchair accessible garden courtyard with walking paths, water feature, gazebo and an opportunity for gardening and flower growing. There are two outdoor decks which overlook the ocean and views. Other features include large lounge and dining spaces, smaller lounge areas, gardens and walking paths, a workshop and art studio, computer room, fitness room, bus for outings, and Snoezelen room. Some of our services include an comprehensive activity program 7 days per week, hair salon, laundry service for personal items; pet therapy; pharmacist on site, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, pastoral care, music therapy, dietician, medical lab support, and volunteer support.
We are near downtown Comox and waterfront walkways and parks.
Language, Culture or Religious Affiliation
We have translation services available for many languages.
The facility received a 3-year accreditation from Accreditation Canada in October 2007.

Philosophy of Care
Our approach to care flows from the Mission Statement of St. Joseph’s Hospital and our Resident Bill of Rights. We embrace each person – resident, family member, staff member and volunteer as an integral part of our community as a whole.
We believe that quality of life can be experienced at each stage of one’s journey, including end of life, when supported by a loving and caring community.
We work toward providing each resident with as individual an experience as possible within facility living.
Residents pay up to 80% of their after-tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation.
