Building Description

Built in 1979, located on the Gorge Waterway and has a beautiful therapeutic garden as well as sitting space for residents to enjoy. It also has a parkade for staff parking.

The building features many amenities and services including lounges, Quiet Room, hair salon, library, activity space, a bus for resident outings, and an outdoor therapeutic garden.

Located close to Tillicum Mall and only about 3 km from downtown Victoria.

Received accreditation from Accreditation Canada in June 2010.

The Mission of The Salvation Army Sunset Lodge is to provide a high standard of holistic care to its residents, ensure their right to self-determination, in a safe environment based on Christian principles and ethics.

Visiting Information

Visitors are expected to sign in and out when they come to the facility. They are expected to remain on site during a fire alarm situation. Also it is asked that visitors ensure no resident follows them through open doorways, either within the facility or as they exit the facility.

Note:  Provincial policy requires all visitors to be informed:  "Violence, foul language and abusive behaviours are not acceptable. Verbal threats or acts of violence will not be tolerated and may result in removal from this facility and/or prosecution.”
