Building Description

Built in 2009, Woodgrove Manor is a large ranch style building with 2 wings. The nursing station and common areas are situated in the center of the building. The grounds are groomed and the foliage is mature. There are sidewalks running around the perimeter of the building for residents who are able to walk outdoors.

Building Amenities

Amenities include a lounge area with a large screen TV and a small library. Our hairdresser visits weekly and a foot care nurse comes to the facility regularly to provide her services to those that require them.  WM is also pleased to offer the services of a fully equipped Dental Hygenist who provides specialized oral care for our residents. We have a lovely outdoor courtyard area where many folks enjoy afternoon tea when the weather is warm.

Neighbourhood/Community Amenities

We are situated across the road from the Superstore and Woodgrove Mall is less than a kilometre away.The city bus stops at the end of the driveway.There is a plaza next door that has a Subway restaurant, Starbucks, blockbuster Video plus numerous other small shops.

Language, Culture or Religious Affiliation

Woodgrove Manor offers a communion service once a month and Hymn Sing twice a month. There is an Eccumenical Center/Catholic Church next door.

Type of Accommodation

We have 3 units that are shared, the rest are private. We accommodate couples in the larger style rooms. All rooms have a private 4 piece bathroom and a small patio with a sliding door. There is ample closet space and all rooms have hook-ups for cable and telephone. There is call bell system in the bedroom and bathroom so assistance can be summoned when needed.

Cost

Residents pay up to 80% of their after-tax income which covers the cost of food and accommodation.

Special Recreational Opportunities

Our Activity Coordinator is in the facility Mon-Fri to keep our residents stimulated and involved. Each morning is started with Sit and Get Fit classes. Word games, Bingo, Happy Hour and live entertainment are offered throughout the week.

Accessibility

There are no stairs or elevators in the building. The hallways are extra wide to provide ample room for walkers and wheelchairs.

Motorized Scooter Policy

Not indoors, but our policy is flexible and may be allowed depending on the skill of the operator.

Call bells in the bedroom and bathroom. Security system is activated at night. Key pad exit on front gate.

Visiting Information

During influenza season (typically December-March), to help protect patients from the flu, all visitors will be expected to wear a mask in our facilities if they have not had a flu shot. For more information, please read our Frequently Asked Questions (PDF) and Influenza Protection Policy (PDF).
