How do I get medical supplies and equipment at home?

We do not provide long-term medical supplies or equipment for your use at home. However, the following information may help you:

• If you are recovering from injury or disease, the Red Cross Loan Equipment program may be able to loan health equipment to you for use at home
• Seniors Serving Seniors publishes a list of businesses in Greater Victoria offering a variety of equipment and supplies
• You can also search the HealthLink BC directory for “medical equipment/supplies”.

If you wish to receive palliative care at home and may be in the last six months of life, you can ask your doctor to help you to apply to the BC Palliative Care Benefits Program. This program provides palliative medications, and palliative medical supplies and equipment at no charge to eligible clients.

How do I use the equipment?

Our physical therapists and occupational therapists can help you learn to use equipment designed to improve your safety at home (such as bath seats, grab bars, scooters, walkers, wheelchairs and lifts).
