The Vancouver Island Health Authority in conjunction with the Ministry of Health administer the Home Oxygen Program to the residents of this region. This program provides oxygen therapy at home for eligible clients with:
- asthma
- emphysema
- chronic bronchitis
- occupational lung disease
- lung cancer
- cystic fibrosis
- congestive heart failure
Respiratory Therapists will provide periodic assessments and oxygen titration. Requests for home oxygen service are made by a physician on behalf of the client.
