Coronary Care Unit

VISITING THE UNIT

  • Visiting hours on CCU are 8-12:00 a.m. and 3-8:00 p.m.
  • Please DO NOT VISIT between 12-3:00 p.m. as this is the patient rest time.
  • Children may not visit unless the patient is their parent.
  • Only TWO VISITORS at a time please.
  • Please wash your hands before entering the unit (you may use the bathrooms in the hallway).

PHONES & COMMUNICATION

  • You may phone direct to the Coronary Care Unit at 370-8254. We ask that each family choose one family member to act as the contact person. 
  • Please do not phone or visit between 7-8 am/pm as this is change of shift and the staff are very busy at this time.
  • Evidence has shown that cellular phones may interfere with various types of medical equipment.  In the interest of providing a safe environment the hospital does not permit visitors or patients to bring cellular phones into the critical care areas of the hospital.

OF SPECIAL NOTE

  • Social work services can help you with many of your needs.  These include finances, housing, transportation, emotional support and counseling.  Your nurse can contact a social worker for you if needed.
  • Pastoral care is available.  Ask the nursing staff to contact pastoral services if needed.
  • Accommodation that is affordable and within walking distance is available.  Ask the nursing staff for more information.
