Description

Newly constructed three storey building adjacent to Greenwoods Care Centre and Lady Minto Hospital, northwest of the Ganges town center. East facing units offer sea views of the Ganges Harbour.

Indoor Features

All ground level units have patios with french doors or sliders. Upper floor suites have Juliette balconies. Ground floor suites have in-suite storage, additional storage lockers are available on the main floor for tenants who require additional storage. Washers and dryers are available for tenant use.

All suites offer good accessibility and are built to current ILBC design standards.

A computer with internet access is available in the main floor lounge. Cablevision is available for purchase by tenants in an optional tier package.

Unit Features

  • One bedroom apartments with Juliette balconies on upper floors, patios on ground floor.
  • Three purpose-built wheelchair accessible units on the main floor with specialized appliances.

Emergency Response

  • Pendant-style personal alarm system.
  • 24 hour on-site emergency response provided, attendant is off-site for portions of the day or night.

Environmental Considerations

  • Suite size can accommodate all equipment/mobility needs.

Cost

  • Residents pay 70% of their after-tax income for the full package of services.
  • Residents under age 65 receiving income assistance pay a pre-determined set rate.
  • Residents with higher incomes pay up to a maximum amount based on comparative private services.
  • This setting is funded by Independent Living BC.

Exit Criteria

  • If an individual experiences a permanent decline in their health condition, a significant increase in care needs, or an inability to make decisions on their own behalf that cannot be reversed, a move from Assisted Living to a more appropriate setting will be necessary
  • A VIHA Home and Community Care Case Manager will assist with this process as required.
