Description

A seniors apartment complex owned and operated by the Luther Court Society - a Christian organization dedicated to housing seniors with care and dignity. Luther Court is close to all amentities but still has a community atmosphere as it is situated in the Cedar Hill neighbourhood.

This building is a campus of care providing Assisted Living, Residential Care, Adult Day Programs and Independent Housing.

Indoor Features

A business office, lobby, lounge area, library and newly renovated dining room are located on the main floor. Luther Court has a beauty salon/barbershop, laundry room available for tenants, as well as an outside garden.

Unit Features

  • Twenty-seven comfortable bachelor and three one-bedroom apartments (reserved for couples).
  • Kitchenettes are fully equipped with fridge and stove.
  • Fully accessible bathrooms with walk in showers and raised height toilets.
  • Small living room area and closets for storage.
  • Some suites have balconies overlooking the garden or street.

  • Pendant-style personal alarm system.
  • 24 hour on-site emergency response.

Environmental Considerations

  • Manual wheelchair use throughout building.
  • Scooter use outdoors only.

Cost

  • Residents pay 70% of their after-tax income for the full package of services.
  • Residents under age 65 receiving income assistance pay a pre-determined set rate.
  • Residents with higher incomes pay up to a maximum amount based on comparative private services.

Exit Criteria

  • If an individual experiences a permanent decline in their health condition, a significant increase in care needs, or an inability to make decisions on their own behalf that cannot be reversed, a move from Assisted Living to a more appropriate setting will be necessary
  • A VIHA Home and Community Care Case Manager will assist with this process as required.
