Infection Prevention and Control

There are three main partners in the prevention and control of infectious diseases within VIHA facilities and communities:

• The Infection Prevention and Control Program is based in facilities. Practitioners have expertise in preventing the spread of disease among patients and residents. 
   
• The Medical Health Officer/Public Health provides information and support related to disease in the community and in contracted facilities.
   
• The Occupational Health & Safety Program answers staff questions about exposures, vaccinations, workplace requirements, and more.
