Securing and ensuring the confidentiality of personal and business information is everyone's responsibility. However, in today's increasingly complex healthcare environment understanding the "rules and regulations" that apply to the information and records we hold can sometimes be a bumpy road.
That's where the Information Access and Privacy Office comes in. Our office exists to oversee the information and privacy practices of VIHA and ensure they are in compliance with policies as well as the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).

- how we protect your information;
- how to obtain records of your information;
- how to complain if you believe your rights have been violated; or
- how to fulfill your FIPPA obligations as a VIHA contractor
