Create Organizational Vision Commitment and Capacity

Purpose: 

To build organization or unit-wide vision, commitment momentum and capacity for supporting and participating in the change.

People Tools

Developing a shared vision (PDF): This tool provides you with a process for guiding your team or group through the development of a common understanding of what they are working toward and what initiatives they are committing to.

Giving recognition (PDF): Change leaders often overlook Giving Recognition. During times of rapid change, everyone needs to look for opportunities to give recognition. This tool will help you give people specific recognition in a way that is meaningful to them.

Process Tools

Change implementers - questions to ask sponsors (PDF): This tool will guide your discussion with the Sponsor of the change initiative so you are clear about what is involved in the change, what will be expected of you and what the sponsor will do to help you be successful.

Understanding people's response to change (PDF): This tool will help you recognize the signs of transition and understand people's response to change in order to take stock of where people are at.

Handling resistance (PDF): This tool provides you with four steps for successful handing resistance and helping people move beyond resistance and start to adjust to change.

Enlisting others (PDF): Research has shown that people can be classified into groups based on the speed at which they adopt innovation and accept change. This tool will help you identify where different team members fall on the "change adoption continuum" and adjust your efforts accordingly.
