While Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada are given priority for all vacancies, foreign-trained physicians may be considered for available positions in underserved areas on Vancouver Island provided they are deemed eligible for licensure.
For underserved areas, VIHA Physician Recruitment will assist international medical graduate physicians with the process of obtaining a work permit.
