Licensure in British Columbia

In British Columbia, licensing is determined by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).  To be eligible for full licensure in British Columbia, the CPSBC requirements include that physicians:

• Hold a Medical Degree from a medical school recognized by the World Health Organization and listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools;
• Have passed the examinations of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC); and
• Be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in their specialty.
