Welcome to Medical Imaging at Island Health
The Medical Imaging Department is comprised of a highly skilled team of people that include Technologists, Radiologists, Nurses, and Support staff. Together, they assist in providing diagnostic and/or treatment procedures for a number of different health conditions.
Medical Imaging is often called the x-ray or radiology department but its services can include Angiography, Bone Mineral Densitometry, Computed Tomography (CT scan), Diagnostic and Screening Mammography, Fluoroscopy, General Radiography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound.
There are nineteen Medical Imaging sites on Vancouver Island that provide some or all of these services. The sites are compiled into three regions: North Island, Central Island, and South Island.
