Alcohol and Drug Counselling Services

Provides outpatient alcohol and drug services for people whose lives have been negatively affected by substance use.  Our program provides a place for active learning and changing.  We help people change by building on the strengths they already have and finding new ways to improve their health and well-being.

Access Services

Intake provides a timely, single point of entry for all Cowichan Valley Mental Health and Addiction services.

Services Provided

  • Screening and Orientation
  • Assessment
  • Referral
  • Individual and Group Treatment
    • Clients are primarily served through groups.  A variety of groups are offered during the week and clients are assigned to them according to their treatment goals.
  • Education
  • Hospital Assessment and Referral (SHARE) Services
  • Alcohol and Drug Counselling Services work closely with all of the Mental Health teams, other relevant VIHA services, probation, Child, Youth and Family Health, and other community agencies.
