Access Services

  • Services are free of charge.
  • Members of the public, community agencies or physicians can call for a consultation or fax a referral to make an appointment for an initial assessment.
  • Services can be accessed through Intake.
  • Or in the Comox Valley referrals can be phoned, faxed or mailed directly to Seniors Services at the address above.

Services Provided

Individuals Served

  • Individuals aged 65 years or older
  • With mental health problems
  • And/or addiction problems
  • And/or dementia with associated psychiatric or behavior problems
  • Adults younger than 65 may be seen if they have dementia.

Services Provided

  • Outreach to seniors and their families/caregivers in their homes, including care facilities
  • Assessment, including guardianship assessments
  • Consultations, including geriatric psychiatry consults
  • Education
  • Treatment
  • Case management
  • Comox Valley service includes a contract for senior peer counselling and care giver support program
  • Comox Valley service includes a contract for a 4 bed transitional residential facility accessible to residents of Campbell River and Comox Valley
  • Seniors Services works closely with Home and Community Care and the Upper Island Geriatric Outreach Team at St. Joseph's General Hospital.
