Addictions Outpatient Treatment

Addictions Outpatient Treatment provides services to adults aged 19 and over who are experiencing drug and alcohol problems.  Services are also available to adults currently affected by a family member's use.
Services for people aged 55 and older are offered by the Victoria Innovative Seniors Treatment Approach (VISTA).

Access Services

Self-referral is initiatied by attending a Group Information Session held at Addictions Outpatient Treatment, Quadra Clinic, on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.  Due to limited seating, information sessions are held on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please come 20 minutes early to secure a seat.

Referrals from physicians and others may be made through Mental Health and Addictions Intake.  Please fax the referral form and Client Questionnaire to 250.381.3222.

Referrals from VIHA services can be sent online via Pathways.  Clients referred this way will also be required to attend a Group Information Session.

Services Provided

  • Services are free, voluntary and confidential. 
  • Services are staffed by professional counsellors.
  • Physicians are available for consultation for clients of the clinic as necessary.
  • Day and evening support groups for men and women.
  • Daytime co-ed intensive educational groups.
  • Individual counselling.
  • Gender-specific intensive day treatment.
  • Referral to other specialized programs, such as residential treatment, supportive recovery and Victoria Withdrawal Management Services.
  • Assessments for the purpose of treatment planning.
  • Other groups on issues such as:
      • Codependency/Choices
      • Harm Reduction
      • Concurrent Disorders
      • Relapse Prevention
      • Stress Reduction and Relaxation

Supportive Recovery Facilities

Lilac Place is a five-bed house for women in the first stages of recovery who require extra support for their recovery.  Women can stay up to three months and staff are available 12 hours per day.  Participation in recovery programs is required during the stay.

  • Access to this service requires a referral from an addictions counsellor done through Pathways or faxed to 250.381.3222.

Holly Place is a five-bed, second-stage supportive home for women who require extra support for their recovery.  Women can stay up to three months and staff are available four hours per day.  Participation in recovery programs is required during the stay.

  • Access to this service requires a referral from an addictions counsellor done through Pathways or faxed to 250.381.3222.

The Grove is a ten-bed, second-stage supportive home for men who require extra support in their recovery.  Men can stay for up to three months and staff are available 16 hours per day.  Participation in recovery programs is required during the stay.
