From the Provincial Emergency Preparedness program:
The Province has adopted a coordinated emergency management system called the British Columbia Emergency Response Management System (BCERMS) focused on providing for the safety and health of responders, saving lives, protecting property and preserving the province’s infrastructure and economy.
In the case of a regional or large-scale disaster in British Columbia, the Vancouver Island Health Authority will be part of an integrated response to protect public health.
