Influenza pandemics have occurred regularly throughout history. To prepare, the Vancouver Island Health Authority has developed the VIHA Pandemic Influenza Plan.
The VIHA plan is consistent with other plans, particularly those developed by the governments of Canada and British Columbia. The VIHA plan also incorporates information that pertains specifically to the characteristics of this individual region.
