Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Office

The goal of the VIHA South Island Tuberculosis (TB) Clinic is to screen for and assist in the treatment and prevention of tuberculosis in the Capital Health Region.

The staff of the VIHA South Island TB clinic welcome any questions you may have about tuberculosis or any of the services offered at the clinic.

Services

  • Tuberculin skin testing. Tuberculin skin testing is done every weekday morning except Thursdays (by appointment!)
  • Chest X-rays for tuberculosis screening.
  • Antibiotic treatment for tuberculosis infection and disease.
  • Tuberculosis screening and counselling for recent contacts of people with contagious tuberculosis.
  • Immigration/emigration tuberculosis screening.
  • Educational resources for health care professionals and other groups.

Fees

  • TB screening for emigration, employment or post-secondary education programs are subject to a fee payable at the time of the testing.
  • All diagnostic services are provided free of charge.
