Sooke IHN

For Patients Enrolled in the IHN by their family physician, the following services support your care as a partner in the Integrated Health Network.

The Sooke IHN is delivering a new way of health care services that relies on the patient to be a partner in their own health. The purpose of our sessions is to provide you with information and community resources to support self-management of your chronic conditions.

Activities & Classes

Wellness Courses

Assertiveness Skills (participant fee $50)

8 week program for people who want to learn assertive communication skills.

Bodysense

Mechanics of weight loss, exercise, portion size, regular eating, snack management.

Break Free From Smoking

7 week program at the IHN office.  Break free from Tobacco Addiction.

Calming the Body & Mind

7 week program to provide simple practices to lower stress levels.

Changeways (participant fee $50)

10 week program for people experiencing depression/anxiety who want to make positive life changes

Insomnia Workshop

8 week course that provides IHN clients with a range of concrete behavioural and cognitive tools to help alleviate insomnia.

Seeking Safety

For women who experience chronic illness, have problems due to substance use AND may experience PTSD.

Sleep Workshop

6 week course to help you learn how to relax and improve sleep.

Healthy Eating & Cooking

Cooking Out Of The Box

Monthly cooking class for IHN clients referred to the Good Food Box program

Good Food Box

Free monthly box of fresh vegetables and/or fruit

Heart Health Education Session

One 2 hour comprehensive once monthly workshop for IHN clients with any heart condition or disease.

Nutrition Course

Fuelling the body for health.  One hour class once a week for three weeks.

Active Living

Edward Milne Community Education

Punch pass - to be used towards programs from the Community Education Calendar

Seaparc Recreation

One month pass includes a personal tour of the recreation centre and programs. May be used as credit for registered programs.

Walking Group

Low intensity exercise and social opportunities in various locations around Sooke.

Specialized Groups

Living Well with COPD

10 week educational program to learn skills to manage your COPD.

Take Heart

12 week, twice weekly supervised exercise sessions at Westshore Rec Centre for those with cardiac conditions.

Community Groups

Chronic Pain Self-Management Program

Chronic Disease Self-Management Program
