Nutrition Services

Nutrition Services develops nutrition guidelines and standards for nutrition care within VIHA.  Dietitians act as a nutrition expert and resource for other health professionals, patients, and students.  Registered dietitians are members of the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.

VIHA's Nutrition Services provides nutritional care for patients in:

    • acute care
    • outpatient care
    • home care
    • long term care settings

Inpatient Dietitians provide nutritional care to patients at nutrition risk, including providing enteral (tube) and parental (intravenous) nutrition management. 

Outpatient Dietitians provide nutrition education to outpatients that have been referred by a physician to help clients improve eating patterns to manage their medical condition.
